Daily Assignment Sheets

Here are Makaylee's latest assignment sheets.  Makaylee has Ephesians 6:1-3 pretty much down. We have been toggling back and forth between the children's Bible that I have been reading and Tyler reading from his teen Bible.  We have been getting a jar of snow each time it snows to see how much water it makes and of course the Steve Spangler boxes. She also decided she would do the stick pencils through the zippy bag experiment the other day when the boys weren't here.  She is on the 44th word of the 1st 100-word list. She is still tracing letters for copy work but has recently started asking me how to spell words for journal instead of asking me to dot the letters so she can trace the words she doesn't already know how to spell. She is writing the first 5 words herself and then narrating the rest to me. We are adding one word a week to build her writing muscles. She is doing amazingly well in typing. She has figured out that she needs to look at the screen to figur...

Toilet loom paper loom

Makaylee did a little weaving with a toilet paper roll loom. She didn't do a whole lot, but what she did do made a pretty necklace.

1/4 - 1/22 Assignment Sheets

Here are Makaylee's latest assignment sheets!  In Bible, we are working on reading another beginning Bible book and Ephesians 6:1-3. In language arts, we are working on building our reading and writing muscles. She has finished all of her beginning reading books and is now in a regular reader and doing well. I also have her writing the first 4 words of her journal entries and I write the rest. Each week, we are increasing the number of words she writes on her own until she can do the whole thing. She is on the 41st word in the most used 100 words spelling list and she is typing the home row at 4 wpm.  In math, she is working on memorizing her 2s addition facts and counting by 2s. She is also starting on a math worksheet in which she is adding two 2-digit numbers. Any questions? Please feel free to ask!

Art Month

Image
Art month was kind of a wash this month because I was very sick most of the month. Normally, it's a virtual Santa's workshop around here, but I was so wiped out! No fever or any other symptoms, just extreme fatigue for weeks. It finally let up just before Christmas, but we didn't get much done. The kids watched a LOT of educational TV and I tried to keep them going with their drill work and reading so it wasn't a total loss. Here's Makaylee's assignment sheet for the month. Please ask if you have any questions.

FB Alternative

Since I am in FB jail, I am forced to find an alternate way to post things about the kids education. So ... Here it is! These blogs are not searchable on the web.
