Girl Things

 Makaylee has been asking to watch videos of different animals giving birth all week. Today, Grampa took Ryan to work with him and Makaylee was delighted. She was excited to do "girl things" with me. So I got out the nail polish thinking that was a "girl thing".

Makaylee was happy to have her nails done, but she said that wasn't the "girl thing" she wanted to do. I asked what she wanted to do and she said, "I want to watch human babies being born." I said sure! So we watched human babies being born and discussed the changes her body would go through during puberty! We also talked about how a daddy has to put a seed in the mommy's tummy for a baby to grow but didn't go into detail about how that happens.

Here are Makaylee's latest assignment sheets. We are on our summer schedule. Makaylee has to do some reading, some writing, spelling and a math game each day. She had the opportunity to attend a children's theater camp. She was a fairy in their production of Frumpled Fairytales. I didn't know if she would be able to memorize all the lines they gave her, but she aced it! Bible: We know Ps. 52:8 and are working on Pl. 37:4. We have been watching Superbook, Beginners Bible and Bible Agent. Science: We have been continuing to watch our compost and making yogurt and bread while talking about the microbes involved in that. Language Arts: Makaylee has mastered 57 of the 100 most commonly used words in English and she only has 24 pages left in her Abeka reader.
